Porto - Puerto corrubedo

We departed from Porto and what a difference, when we had arrived the day before it was ebbing and much like Chichester the entrance was very disrupted. When we departed this morning the channel and sea state was completely benign. Soon we were on our way we had decided without a plan to push as far north as we could. The going was very good and we made great progress. Eventually I announced that I had found a suitable anchorage that had good reviews. It was called Puerto de Corrubedo and it looked perfect. It was sheltered from the prevailing winds and did not require us to deviate much from our direction of travel.

We arrived just before dusk as the total journey was some 89 miles or so. We edged our way in and Ian let the anchor go….We put the engine into reverse to dig the anchor in and make sure it was holding and clonk we stopped dead. We looked at each other as we both knew that it was rock. A short discussion took place as to weather to pull it up and re-anchor, I decided I didn't want to have two goes at getting it stuck, it would either come up in the morning or it wouldn't. In the mean time we had supper and went to bed. I set an anchor alarm.
