Day 5 to Milford Haven

4am start and a quick shower after a rough nights sleep, I can't seem to get a full nights sleep in at the moment I am not sure why it leave me permanently tired. I switch in the chart plotter and aagh the chart runs out at the Lizard. Fortunately I have two spare chart chips and so I had to use one to purchase the full British Isles navigational charts. This took about 30 minutes but it was thirty minutes which probably added 45 to the journey because of the way the tides were running.

We rounded Lands End and it was not a photo opportunity, the clouds were so low we could only see the base of the cliffs. Once clear of Lands End we were on our course and what wind there was was on the nose so we were motoring. Then the fog arrived and we had about three boat lengths of visibility. ten minutes later it was all clear.

At about one o'clock we had a favourable wind shift and the sun came out and we were off creaming along under sail at 8.3knts. We had two short visits from dolphins, I saw a single pilot whale break the surface just thirty feet from the boat and when we were about 3 miles from Milford Haven we were visited by some small Porpoises. We arrived and anchored at Dale Bay in Milford Haven at 8:30
