Day 4 to Newlyn

8am start hooray something a bit civilised! We have decided to try to make Milford Haven in daylight as an overnight journey was not a popular choice. This means a stop at Newlyn, I didn't want to go to Newlyn because I was sure they would raft us against a fishing vessel and sure enough that is exactly what they did. That in itself was not a problem, what has a problem was the fishing vessel behind us was running its engines and did so all night and the exhaust fumes went straight into our cockpit.

We decided not to eat on the boat because of the noise so we went ashore. There are nine places to eat in Newlyn, we were turned away from two pubs with empty tables because "the kitchen was over run", one pub stopped serving food at 2pm, on restaurant locked its doors, the Mackerel Seafood bar had a 90 minute queue and in the last possible place Alistair used his charm to get us in. The next couple to arrive after us were turned away. I will never go into Newlyn again unless there is no other choice. We would have been better anchoring off Mousehole and using our dinghy to go ashore.
