What are we doing?

Sainte Marine

Although we only stayed in Quiberon for one night we had arrived early in the morning so when we departed the next day it was as though we had been there a while. We had decided to go to Sainte Marine because PLF is tidal and we were unlikely to arrive at a time when we could enter. The other option was Loctudy and whilst it is nice enough Sainte Marine was much nicer the only problem was getting a berth., they only have a short pontoon available for us and it might have been occupied. I emailed them yesterday requesting a berth and the reply was only if someone leaves… When we were on our way I emailed them again letting them know we were on our way, (Plan B was to anchor).

The sail was fantastic but it is a long trip so our ETA was going to be after 2pm. The sun came out and it was lovely. Then at around 12:30 I got an email sailing that someone had left and they did have a space but the wind had reduced and now our ETA was 16:30.

We arrived at 16:30 on the button and there was a huge space on the pontoon for us. We went straight in and paid for two nights.

The next morning there was a market on the other shore and so Linda and Gwyn caught the ferry. Ia and I decided to go to the chandlers and get some boat parts. This involved a dinghy ride and on the way back the engine would not run properly. So after a quick Google ewe diagnosed a carburettor problem. By the time the girls returned we had all the tools out on the pontoon and the outboard engine in bits.

After lunch we all went to a long circular walk and it was fantastic. It was a complete contrast to last year, the beach was packed and yet last year Linda and I walked to the beach and there was only us and one other couple there. We would happily have stayed for a few more days.
