Sold! Diamond Blue departs

They always say that the two best days are the day you buy a boat and the day you sell it. Well it simply wasn't true for us. I just loved Diamond Blue. It wasn't perfect and yes it needed a small fortune spending in it (Show me a boat that doesn't), but this boat was special, a fast cruiser-racer that could take any sea conditions and just shrug them off.

It went to a good home two really nice men who have bought it jointly with their wives, but we couldn't keep it as we need a bigger boat to go blue water cruising and Diamond Blue just isn't designed to do that. Diamond Blue can sail anywhere on the planet but it only carries 100l of fuel and about 250l of water. It is a Stephen Jones design and is slim so it is very difficult to accommodate additional tanks. If it could hold more fuel then a water-maker could easily be installed. Having said that a Dutch Couple took their Starlight 39 (Kind of Blue) around the globe so it is possible. Linda said I could do it on my own but if I want company I need to get something bigger!

"I think I have found our next boat"

-Linda (Elbowing me in bed)
No boat is perfect and having owned a 10 year old boat for 10 years I didn't go into this with my eyes closed but I went carefully over the boat taking photographs and making notes to pass to the surveyor for checking.
