What are we doing?

Cherbourg to Peter Port

We ghosted out of the harbour western entrance at seven knots in about none knots of wind it was magical. the sea was so smooth the boat just glided along. There were several boats ahead and it was our job to catch them up and over take!… It was not quite so easy once we left the harbour as the sea was not quite so settled and so our progress was moderated, however that affected the other boats as well. Slowly we reeled them in but one boat took ages to catch and it was only when we got really close that we say they had their engine on! As we reached Cap De La Hague we found that we could not sail the wind dropped and we had to motor, we motored for about ten minutes. The reason the wind had dropped was a typical indicator of a wind shift and that is what we had. Soon we hoisted the spinnaker and we were off again. Unfortunately when I lifted the spinnaker I felt my abdomen go and… I now sure I have a hernia.

We arrived in Peter Port and filled up with tax free fuel and then rafted up. There in the marina was our friends Susan and David on Heodic who were with their friends Linda and Jonny on Titian Blue. They had booked a restaurant so we all went out for a meal.
