What are we doing?

Port Joinville ile d'yeu

I think the events of yesterday lead for me to a state of shock. You are not really aware of it at the time but there is a strangeness and a loss of confidence. We have been back over the logs and we had not made a navigational error we were n what should have been deep water.

I called the Capitanarie at Port Joinville and asked if they had a berth available for tonight, they asked how long I was and we told them then they asked again. She then asked when we would arrive and I said one hour (It was 7:30am which is very early for an arrival). We were in luck after a kerfuffle she told us to go to D hammerhead - perfect.

We arrived and tide up really nicely and we were happy to be in. We decided to not have any breakfast until we arrived and we would go out for breakfast. We stoped to pay the bill on t2he way and as I was talking t the receptionist I mentioned that we had hit an uncharted object. The harbour master who must have been listening in the next room came out immediatly. I told him what had happened and he asked me to return later to give precise locations and screen shots.

Soon we were off down the high street and it was a lovely busy little island port. The frontage was covered with one restaurant after another so it wasn't long before we found somewhere to eat.Freshly squeezed OJ and baguettes, just what we needed.

After that we have a good roam around the town and ended back at the boat. After lunch I went to see the harbour master and went to the chandlers and got a new plug for our shore power cable as the old one has signs of arcing. After re-wiring the cable we had an early dinner as tomorrow we have a 40 mile sail.
