What are we doing?

Pornic

Linda's first day was a short sail to Pornic, there was not much wind and we drifted along at between 2-3 knots but it didn't matter because Pornic was only about 15 miles from Pornichet. As we approached I called them on the radio and I was told to go on Delta hammerhead and unusually there was no one to greet us. Normally in French marinas in this part of the world a man in a work boat will guide you to your berth but it wasn't needed.

Pornic is a very pretty old French village and quite touristy but first we had a late lunch and a chill with some Rosé de Loire and so we had a relaxing time on the boat doing nothing. In the evening we went for a walk through the village and probably should have gone earlier as many shops were closed. None of the restaurants too our fancy so we walked back to the marina and dined in a marina restaurant instead.

Tomorrow we plan to go to an anchorage on Ile D'yeu which is a bit of luck as there are two windless days forecast and it is difficult to go there because swell often enters the bay. I think we might be in luck as there is no real wind forecast and what there is coming from a northerly direction so finger crossed. The only fly in the ointment is that we are 38 miles away which means that the bay might be full by the time we get there.
