Day 51 Gas!

We left the anchorage quite early but it was still a log to get to Nyköping for gas. The run in is amazing we have to go for about six miles down a really narrow channel only to find no water at the end.

As we arrived were were not sure where to go, come on the outside he said with no further explanation. Tentertivily I went across the mud flats 0.7, 0.5, 0.3, 0.2, ZERO docked. As we docked the depth under the keel read zero. We had quite a reception all the other boats left on to the pontoon to offer advice and take lines as though we could not do it ourselves!

It was now 16:05 and the chandlers and gas station closes at 17.00. I ran to the harbour office and he provided a map. Richard called a taxi and Linda and I rushed to the car park lugging three huge gas cylinders and a bag full of bags. the taxi turned up and we arrived at the gas station at 16.50 and he filled them. It took about 8 seconds to fill each cylinder amazing. I left Linda to pay and ran to the chandlers but they did not have the line I needed. I went back to the gas station where Linda could not lift the now full bottles. The owner taking pity on my I was moving them in leagues gave us a lift to Lidl.

We then did a shop with three huge gas cylinders in the shopping trolly (no one said a word) and called taxi. Linda cooked a nice meal as everyone apart from me did not want to go out. It was probably a good decision but I wanted to see the town.

I mentioned a line above, earlier we had had an accident and trapped a genoa sheet and stopped it of its cover. So for the time being we only have one sheet which means we can only sail on one tack. Tomorrow I will try to find someone with stock.
